KIDS TRAINING

The Junior fitness development program focuses on developing athletic skills that will help young athletes to be better at their sports and will prepare them for common daily life physical demands.
The Junior Sports Development program is based on the principles of Long-Term Athletic Development (LTAD), CC uses physical activities that are appropriate to a child’s biological age. These activities are challenging but rewarding. Young athletes will gain strength, quickness, speed, agility, balance and confidence. At CC we ensure they will have a great fun doing all of it!

  • Stage 1: Active Start (0-6 years)
  • Stage 2: FUNdamentals (girls 6-8, boys 6-9)
  • Stage 3: Learn to Train (girls 8-11, boys 9-12)
  • Stage 4: Train to Train (girls 11-15, boys 12-16)
  • Stage 5: Train to Compete (girls 15, boys 16)

The youth programme addresses different areas according to the ages of the future star:

Stages 1 – 2
For young age the most important is the athletic development, juniors require minimal fitness, but a lot of skill-based drills in order to develop their athleticism. The working elements at this age are aimed to create future athletes. Therefore, at this age we take the juniors through two different areas: fundamental movement skills and athletic skills. We find out exercises where they work on all this and have fun at the same time. A training session consists of:

  • 50% of the time- developing fundamental movement skills such as locomotion skills- running, jumping, crawling, skipping, sliding etc. all the basic stuff
  • ABCS skills- Agility, Balance Coordination and Speed
  • Exercises to control Object Control Skills-throwing, kicking, catching, striking Kinesthetic awareness
  • After this the other 50% of the time we focus on specific athletic skills
  • Power, strength, mobility, flexibility, stability and coordination

Stages 3 to 5
The aim here is to finish developing the athletic skills

  • At this age the exercises are more focused in specific athletic skills for their sport
  • This program is available for group of kids who practice any sport, at Smasher we create programs that adapt to the sport of the juniors
  • The training sessions can be at our facilities or our coaches can go to other places if required
